An Analysis of Stage 1-2 Hypertension on the Increased Risk of Alzheimer?s disease in Midlife Lead Investigator: Daniel Kramer Institution : Commack High School E-Mail : dkramer@commack.k12.ny.us Proposal ID : 1346 Proposal Description: In the past, a study has linked the risk of developing AD in later years with having Stage 3 hypertension and above (systolic blood pressure of 160 mm Hg or higher) during midlife (Kivipelto, 2001). Yet, there is very little known about the possible risks of Stage 1-2 hypertension (121-159 mm Hg) on AD. Therefore, more investigation should be done to fully understand the risks of Stage 1-2 hypertension on the development of AD.
